Aging Programs
The White River Area Agency on Aging administers a contract with various agencies to provide the delivery of senior center services in our service area.

The centers act as a gathering place for older citizens.  Generally open five days per week, the centers provide hot lunches and various activities.  ( see link for actual operation hours for each center)

The participants are asked to contribute toward the cost of the services using the suggested contribution schedule posted in each center.

The current contractors are:

5. Northcentral Arkansas Development Council, Inc.
    (Izard, Sharp, And Stone Counties)

7. White County Aging Program, Inc.

8. Woodruff County Aging Program, Inc.


Services

The services included in the contract are:
1. Congregate Meals   Monthly Menu
• A hot or other appropriate meal served to an eligible person at a congregate meal site.  Meals provide 1/3 of the RDA requirements and comply with DAAS standards.

2. Home Delivered Meals
• A hot or other appropriate meal delivered to the residence of an eligible homebound person.   Meals provide 1/3 of the RDA requirements and comply with DAAS standards. 

3. Socialization/Recreation
• Facilitation of client’s involvement in activities to promote social interaction and reduce social isolation.  This may be accomplished through activities that provide personal enrichment, satisfying use of leisure time, or development of new skills or knowledge.

4. Transportation
• Transporting client from one location to another so that the client has access to needed services, care or assistance.  This transportation is to and from Senior Centers where supported services are offered, not Medicaid Transportation.
