Introduction
White River
Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is a private nonprofit corporation. It is governed
by a thirteen member board of directors, composed of area business people,
elected public officials, professionals, and persons over age 60. In addition,
an Advisory Council, made up of aging program participants and local citizens,
offers advice to the White River AAA staff regarding needed services. The
service area includes ten (10) counties in North Central Arkansas including
Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson,
Sharp, Stone, Van Buren, White, and Woodruff
Counties. See Map.
Mission
Statement
It is the
mission of the White River Area Agency on Aging to develop and coordinate
a system of services designed to improve and enhance the quality of life
of older persons by assisting them in living, with dignity, in the least
restrictive environment.

fans to seniors during periods of excessive heat. |
Eligibility
For Services
Most of
the services provided by WRAAA are available to persons 60 years of age
or older. Some have financial eligibility requirements and, in addition,
may also have other requirements such as being homebound. Services on a
private pay basis are available to those wishing to pay for their services.
