In-Home
Services
Personal Care Services
The Area Agency on Aging provides assistance
in the home for the disabled or frail elderly under the supervision of
a Registered Nurse. Certified Home Care Assistants assist these individuals
with their activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming,
meal preparation, and light housekeeping. Since transportation is
such an important activity, transportation for shopping is, also, available
under this program. Medicaid individuals who meet certain medical
criteria are eligible to receive this service at no cost. This service
is, also, available to VA clients, non-Medicaid eligible individuals on
a private pay basis, and may be covered by some Long Term Care insurances
and a Medicaid waiver.
Our Home Care Assistants not only provide
the necessary assistance with activities of daily living, but they, also,
provide one-on-one attention for social interaction and a sense of belonging
and being cared for.
This program allows individuals to remain
as independent as possible in the comfort of their own homes.
Homemaker Services
Our Homemaker service provides for basic
upkeep and management of the household by providing assistance with tasks
such as: menu planning, bill paying, essential shopping, and housework.
Individuals who are eligible under the Elderchoice Medicaid waiver program
are eligible for this service at no cost to them. This service is,
also, available on a private pay basis.
Respite Services
Our Respite services provide temporary
relief to persons providing long term care in their homes. Relief
may be provided to address an emergency need or for scheduled relief based
on the caregiver’s routine needs. This service is provided at not
cost to those eligible under the Medicaid waiver program. It is,
also, available on a private pay basis.
