The White River Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is seeking an Ombudsman to provide advocate representation to the residents of nursing homes, residential care facilities, and other long term care facilities as defined by the State Long Term Care Ombudsman program. The qualified applicant will possess superior communication skills, knowledge of case work procedures and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. This position also requires successfully completing the required State Ombudsman Certification Training Program and maintains these requirements. Older Worker Program
The State Older Worker Community Service Employment Program was established in accordance with the provisions of the Older Worker Community Service Employment Act of 1985. The program itself actually began in 1973. The purpose of this program is to offer part-time employment opportunities in community service positions for persons who are 55 years of age or older and meet income eligibility.
